Cool Week Ahead!

Well the weather forecasters at the NOAA weather prediction center are forecasting a warm, or maybe very warm January for southeast Texas. I hope they are right, unlike December, where temperatures felt much colder than average. Houston had many days were the high temperature didn't even get to 50 degrees this December. Although, surprisingly the low temperature hasn't gotten below freezing yet, up through December 10, the lowest temperature that my Kestral recorded was 33 degrees. I still haven't had a chance to check the lowest temperatures for the rest of December, past December 10th, but my brother said that he saw a inch layer of ice on my cars windshield a couple of days ago, so I guess the temperature must have gotten to, or below freezing.
I am tired of this cold weather and am looking forward to a at least cool week. I am hoping that we are going to have a warm January, but I hope that once it gets warm, it stays warm becuase I don't like it when the temperature goes from warm to cold, warm to cold, like it usually does in Houston during the winter. I'd rather it stay cool and then become cold, so that way I am not that surprised by it.
Anyway looking forward to a cool week and hoping for a warm January and rest of next year, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Enjoying a Sunny Day!

After a few days of temperatures in the high 30's and low 40's and barely any sun, I got to enjoy a sunny yet still cold day today in Houston. The low temperature this morning in Houston was near, or at the freezing point this morning and I think the highest temperature that the areas in and around Houston got to were in the high 40's, or maybe low 50's. I am not enjoying this cold weather, but I did enjoy the sun.
The weather forecasters at NOAA are forecasting another cold front to pass through tomorrow and then another one late Friday, or Saturday morning, or afternoon. It doesn't look like there is much relief in sight.
The highest high that I could see was 68 degrees next Thursday on the 19th of December. I hope they don't need to change that. I think it is supposed to be partly cloudy, or sunny next Thursday also. I hope we'll get to see some temperatures in the 70's soon, but it's looking like we are going to have to wait until the end of winter before that happens. I hope not!

Finally!

We finally got some decent rainfall today. It rain pretty much all morning, until sometime during 12 pm, when it stopped raining. The forecaster's at NOAA said that it would probably stop raining during the afternoon, due to some dry air moving in, so it might have rained all day, if it weren't for the dry air, but that's ok. We finally got some decent rain!
This is a video of the shower that brought heavy rain to my neighborhood.

Well.....

That was a bust! No rain! Just a few light sprinkles in the morning. I hope we we'll get some rain tomorrow, if it's still in the forecast. I thought my area was supposed to be the have's, not the have not's. That was what the NOAA weather forecast said that there will be "the have's and the have nots." But my neighborhood was supposed to be the have's. I am located just south of I-10. Oh well.... Hopefully tomorrow we'll get some rain.

Still Waiting!

So, i'm still waiting for that possible rain. Wondering whether the tropical moisture will turn into a tropical storm. I read on NOAA's weather forecast discussion for Houston, that there is only a 10% chance of tropical development with the tropical moisture, or tropical wave that is headed towards Houston. NOAA says that there is too much wind shear for the tropical moisture to develop into a depression, or storm. That's ok I just want to see some rain. Although, as I mentioned before in my last post. Having a tropical depression, or storm, may mean more rain for Houston, but not too much rain, I hope! If Houston gets too much rain at once, then we'll start getting flash flooding, due to the lack of rainfall. That wouldn't be good! So maybe it's better off, that the tropical moisture doesn't turn into a tropical depression, or storm.
UPDATE: So I just checked the extended forecast for Houston, on The Weather Channel's website and they only give Houston and 40% chance of rain for Sunday and only a 30% chance of rain for Monday and Tuesday. I hope their not thinking that the moisture is going to miss us. I hope not. Fingers crossed!

Excited About The Possible Rain!

Looks like we got some rain chances in the forecast all next week! I hope we get some rain! I have been enjoying this warm, dry air, that we've been getting in Houston, this past week. A great break from the record heat and moist air that we got last week. Although I have been enjoying this nice dry air. Houston really needs some rain, especially my neighborhood. I don't know, if we even got, but a few rain drops, in my neighborhood, this past June. I hope we get alot of rainfall next week, like the forecasters said. It all depends on varying factors and which way the tropical wave is heading. Hopefully in our direction. Houston could really use the rain.
